The Kraken is species that dwell in The Turbulent Seas and West Isles. It is the only boss in-game and is sought after for its rare, droppable trophy. Let us discuss how to spawn and hunt the Kraken.

Preparation

Ships

You can use the ship of your choice, though a Galleon is the best option due to its armament.

Kraken Bait

Kraken bait is a rare item that is required to spawn the Kraken. It can not be crafted and can be obtained only from other players. Once acquired, use the Drydocks located at any port. Click the Equip on any FlagSlot.

Ammunition

The Kraken has a ton of health points; therefore, a minimum of 100 cannonballs are on board. A recommended amount of 300 or more cannonballs, as the Kraken hitbox may be buggy.

Crew

Having a large crew is recommended due to their ability to man more guns.

Time

The Kraken has a spawn chance of 0.02% per second. Depending on the size of your fleet, if equipped with lures, spawning the Kraken can range from a minute to half an hour.

Spawning the Kraken

Once you have completed all the steps listed above, sail anywhere outside the map. Continue sailing in the Quacic Ocean until the Kraken has spawned. The Kraken's spawning can be recognized when the music switches to 'First Volley' and roars are heard.

Fighting the Kraken

The process for fighting the Kraken is straightforward. Aim and shoot at the tentacles and do not go near the Kraken, as it may instantly sink your ship. Note that the shots may not register when firing at the Kraken as well, as there is an invisible hit box above. When the Kraken is defeated, everyone who participated, those who fired at the Kraken and their crew, will receive a Kraken Trophy.

Selling Kraken Trophies

As the Kraken Trophy is rare, the item can be sold for numerous goods. It is recommended to sell a Kraken Trophy for an unobtainable item such as Jenga, House of Cards, or more Kraken Bait.
