The Turbulent Sea's gameplay is centered around its merchant-based system. Players can buy barrels from the Central Trading Company (or CTC for short) and sell them at outposts or ports. The map is large, so sailing takes several minutes to reach a destination, which makes the grind seem slow. If you're looking for the fastest and most optimized way to earn coins, this is the article for you.
Less weight on your ship means more money earned. It is recommended to have at most 2 cannons (1 on each side) on your ship (Schooner or above) in case you are attacked by pirates though this may be unnecessary if you are traveling through less active areas. Magazines are optional, as you can store round shots in your inventory and directly load the cannons.
Private servers are a terrible option for earning coins. The drawbacks out shadow the benefits, as barrels sell prices are lowered by 40%.
The Galleon is the best ship for being a merchant. Though it has a lower speed than the Brig and Schooner, the Galleon can carry 50 barrels (if empty). If you're starting, continue through each ship until you reach the Galleon.
You should always load barrels above the deck and form a circle around the merchant. This is to reduce loading time. Using first-person, you're able to clip barrels into each other.
Doobin to Hilltop is the best route, with Sea Biscuits selling at Hilltop for 240 each and Berries selling at Doobin for 240 each with a maximum travel time of 20 minutes, this route is extremely efficient.
This is an alternative starting point for the Doobin-Hilltop route that can shave a few minutes off of travel time. Berries selling at Torlan pay significantly less than at Doobin.
