Flintlock & Musket; what’s the difference?

In the most recent update, a new weapon was added to the game, the musket. Although the flintlock and musket may look similar, there are many differences. This article aims to describe those differences and help players know when to use them.

What is the flintlock? 

The flintlock has been in the game for quite some time now. During that period, it was the only gun and the only player-held weapon along with the sabre. The flintlock is a short-range weapon that uses musket balls as ammunition. Although it is relatively slow at reloading, it was an excellent weapon for both innocent merchants and fierce pirates. It is a craftable item, with its crafting recipe being 3 iron and 3 wood, so it is accessible to all players. It also does half damage to players at close range. Because of these factors, the flintlock is an excellent weapon for both beginners and advanced players.

What is the Musket? 

This weapon is no joke. It was added to the game in the "October 3rd" update. Like the flintlock, the musket also uses musket balls, but it’s very much different from the flintlock. The musket is intended to be used as a medium-range to a long-range weapon. The musket can one-shot any player, meaning it can deal 100% damage. The gun costs 6000 gold coins at the shipwright, or what’s commonly referred to as the "drydock". Notably, it’s slightly slower at reloading than the flintlock.
